Sophie Richards

Sophie Richards

Sophie Richards is a researcher and the fiancée of Thomas Rogan in The House of the Dead (1996). She becomes a victim of Dr. Curien’s horrific experiments after being kidnapped at the Curien Mansion. Depending on the player's choices, her fate varies—she can either be rescued or meet a tragic end. Sophie’s capture serves as a major driving force for Rogan’s mission. Though she is not a playable character, her role is crucial to the game's story.

Thomas Rogan

Thomas Rogan

Thomas Rogan is a skilled AMS agent and the protagonist of The House of the Dead (1996). Tasked with stopping the mad scientist Dr. Curien, he fights through hordes of undead creatures in the Curien Mansion alongside his partner, G. Rogan is a determined and fearless operative, driven by his mission and the need to save his fiancée, Sophie Richards. He later appears in The House of the Dead III, where his daughter, Lisa Rogan, takes center stage in the fight against the undead.


Agent G

Agent G

Agent G is a highly skilled and mysterious AMS agent in The House of the Dead series. He first appears as Thomas Rogan’s partner in the original The House of the Dead (1996), assisting in the mission to stop Dr. Curien’s undead outbreak. Known for his calm and professional demeanor, G is a veteran operative who continues to appear in multiple sequels, mentoring new agents like James Taylor in The House of the Dead 2 and Lisa Rogan in The House of the Dead III. Despite his long service, little is known about his personal life, adding to his enigmatic presence in the series.

Dr. Curien

Dr. Curien

Dr. Roy Curien is the main antagonist of The House of the Dead (1996). A brilliant but obsessed scientist, he conducts unethical experiments to create the "perfect lifeform." His research leads to the resurrection of the dead and the creation of horrific bio-weapons, ultimately causing the outbreak at the Curien Mansion. 

Driven mad by his ambition, Curien loses control of his creations, especially The Magician (Type 0), his ultimate experiment. In the end, he is betrayed by his own creation and meets his demise just before the Magician turns on the AMS agents. Despite his death, his legacy haunts future installments of the series.
